Your Game Console Could Be Driving Up Your Power Bill

America's Unused Game Consoles Eat Up as Much Power as All of Houston

What's staggering about the amount of electricity consumed by this latest generation of video game consoles isn't how much they use when they're being played—it's when they're not being played.

America's PS4s, Xbox Ones, and Nintendo Wii Us are “on track to consume as much electricity each year as all the homes in Houston ... and cost consumers more than $1 billion to operate annually,” according to a new study by the Natural Resources Defense Council.

The report found that most of the energy isn't going into gaming; most of it will be consumed when the consoles are just sitting in standby mode but still waiting for voice to wake it up.

In 2007, Dr. John Hawks, professor of anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, published an article in the peer-reviewed journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) titled “Recent acceleration of human adaptive evolution” This article showed that positive selection within human beings has occurred at a rate 100 times higher than any other time in human history, and that this massive acceleration within evolution has happened particularly within the last 5000 years.

Principal Calls Cops on Middle School Student Over Doodle | Infowars.com
A principal at a middle school in Portland, Ore. suspended a student and then called the cops after the boy doodled a picture of a man hanging, another example of the mindless overkill that is becoming prevalent in American schools.

FBI plans crackdown on cyber crime, with arrests imminent | End the Lie – Independent News
Anderson Jr. told the Reuters Cybersecurity Summit in WA on Wed. that the bureau has revamped its focus on cyber crime and will show a “much more offensive side” to its enforcement efforts soon. FBI director James Comey appointed Anderson as the executive assistant director of cyber enforcement at the bureau in March, putting him in charge of international operations and critical incident response, among other duties.

Washington pot grower sues state over taxing federal crime | RT USA
